Just Born: George Thomas Gibson, Dad feeling 'emotional wreck' over second son

Diane and Stephen Gibson from Dundonald have welcomed a second son into the world.

George Thomas Gibson weighed 7lbs 15oz and measured 55cm when he was born at the Ulster Hospital in Dundonald on May 31 at 5.51am.

His middle name Thomas is afer Stephen's grandfather.

Diane (26), a nurse at the City Hospital, and Stephen (28), a plumber, are back home with their two boys.

George's big brother, four-year-old Matthew, is "proud as punch".

"Matthew said that George can sleep in his bedroom anytime he likes," Diane said.

"He is a good wee help. When we told him his name he thought it was lovely.

"He says 'I love my wee brother' and 'I love our new baby'."

Diane praised staff at the Ulster Hospital.

"They were fantastic," she said. "My midwife was called Sarah Magowan and I am very thankful for her quality of care throughout my labour. She never left my side and explained everything really well.

"My husband said he is so proud of me and glad to bring us home as a family-of-four."

The couple would like to thank their friends and family for all the messages of congratulations.

Diane and Stephen are in good spirits and say having two children is the joy and challenge they expected.

Stephen said: "I am an emotional wreck!" And Diane added: "I am feeling very outnumbered with all the boys!"
