The little boy weighed 7lb 6oz when he arrived at 2.28pm on Tuesday, October 2, at the Lagan Valley Hospital Midwife Led Unit, where his older sister Isobella (2) was also born.

“We didn't know we were having a boy,” Kelly said.

“When he did decide to make an appearance he arrived very quickly.

“He arrived 45 minutes after we got to the hospital, so we are lucky he wasn't born in the car.

“He was a brilliant surprise and I was over the moon when they handed him to me.”

Kelly, from Dromore, said Jack looks a lot like Isobella did when she was a newborn and praised staff at Lagan Valley for their care.

“Staff were fantastic,” Kelly said.

“We were very lucky. They couldn't do enough for us.

“The midwives are worth their weight in gold.

“That is us finished now. We have one of each.”

Isobella is adapting very well to having a new brother at home and the O'Preys want to thank all their friends and family for the love and support they have received since Jack's birth.

“Isobella is fetching nappies and bibs for us,” Kelly said.

“She gives Jack a wee kiss on the head before bed every night.

“So far, so good.”
