Just Born: Joshua Stephen Reid

Oh brother... family's delight as they welcome a second son

Sharon and Timothy Reid from Lisburn are celebrating the birth of their second child.

They are over the Moon to have welcomed a second son into the world.

Joshua Stephen Reid weighed 8lbs 9.5oz and measured 52cms when he was born at the Lagan Valley Hospital on October 28 at 7.30pm.

Training and development officer Sharon (39) and Timothy (36), a landscaper, were thrilled to see him.

"We were happy he was here and healthy," Sharon said.

"We are over the Moon."

Proud mum Sharon praised the standard of care provided by Lagan Valley's midwife-led unit.

"They are all fantastic," Sharon said.

"They were so attentive. I was very relaxed. It really felt like a home from home."

Sharon has been released from hospital and is now home in Lisburn with her young family.

Little Joshua is sleeping and feeding well.

"We're home now and he's doing great," Sharon said.

The Reids' other son, two-year-old Ethan, is adjusting well to the new addition to the family.

"He's still very young so doesn't understand what's going on, but is pottering about as normal," Sharon said.

Friends and family have been of great support at this happy time for the Reid family.

Sharon explained everyone has been very kind and the family has been inundated with messages of congratulations and well-wishes.

"They all love him," Sharon said.

"Everyone has been great. He is being spoiled."
