Cherith and John Glenn from Lisburn are exhausted but very happy following the birth of their first child.
Samuel George Glenn made his appearance in the world on November 24 at 7.26am.
He weighed 8lbs 10z and measured 53cms when born at the Ulster Hospital in Dundonald.
Teacher Cherith (29) and John (29), a farmer and doctor, were thrilled to meet their baby boy.
"He was a surprise," Cherith said.
"We were delighted to have an heir to the farm!
"Apparently he looks like John, I can't see it but that is what people have told us."
Cherith and John are enjoying the challenges of being first-time parents.
"It's good, exhausting, but so lovely," Cherith said.
"It's a nice time for us. It's exciting."
Little Samuel is thriving.
"He is going very well," Cherith said.
"He is growing so fast, putting on the pounds.
"He is a lot more alert now and is recognising our voices."
Cherith praised the staff at the Ulster Hospital for the care they provided to her young family.
"Everyone was very good," she said.
The Glenns' home has been full of visitors since the new addition arrived.
"Thanks to everyone for their kindness, good wishes and gifts," Cherith said. "He has been spoiled."
