Just Married: Gareth McKinstry and Anna Diamond - life's a picnic after blind date led to champagne proposal on beach

Gareth McKinstry and Anna Diamond from Jordanstown have just married after falling in love following a blind date nearly four years ago.

Bank official Gareth (33) and Anna (31), a company director, met at the Apartment in Belfast on December 30, 2010 after being set up by a cousin who thought they would be suited to each other.

They instantly clicked and their relationship began.

The couple fell in love and then became engaged on January 26, 2013.

"I organised a picnic and champagne on Crawfordsburn beach," Gareth said.

"Anna came round the corner and I was on one knee with the ring and our rescue dog Ruby was beside me.

"I also arranged a surprise 30th birthday for her later that night."

The couple married on September 6 at the Lough Erne Resort in Enniskillen.

Their day ran smoothly and was everything they had hoped for.

Gareth and Anna's first dance as husband and wife was to classic Michael Buble song Everything.

"It was just an unbelievable day," Gareth said.

"It was very relaxed. It went in so fast.

"We had a fantastic day and the weather was perfect."

The couple would like to thank all their friends and family for celebrating their big day with them and helping to make it so special.

The newlyweds are off to Bali on honeymoon and are enjoying the first days of married life. "It's great," Gareth said. "We are so relaxed."
