Rhonda and Sean McCann from Moneymore are settling into marital bliss following the wedding day of their dreams.

Rhonda (41) and Sean (47), both civil servants, met seven years ago through work.

Similar people with shared viewpoints and interests, they got on very well and quickly fell in love with each other.

The couple became engaged at Christmas 2011.

"We were opening presents on Christmas morning and my engagement ring was inside one of the gifts," Rhonda explained.

They were then married on July 18 at Harvey's Point in Donegal in front of 120 guests.

The bride and groom thoroughly enjoyed their day, which went off without any hitches.

Their first dance as husband and wife was to the John Legend song All of Me.

"We had a fantastic day," Rhonda said.

"It went in far too quickly.

"We were really excited about getting married and we were very chilled out on the day."

The new Mr and Mrs McCann headed to Italy on honeymoon, taking in the sights of Rome and Sorrento during their romantic stay away.

"It was absolutely gorgeous," Rhonda said.

"We had a wonderful time."

Now back home in Moneymore, the newlyweds are enjoying every moment of married life and looking forward to many happy years together.

"We lived together before we were married so it's all very similar to how we were before," Rhonda said.

"We are both very happy."
