Just Married: Rural wedding and US honeymoon for couple who met as teens

Bronagh and Paddy Carville from Derriaghy are enjoying married life following the wedding of their dreams.

Bronagh (26) and Paddy (28), both originally from Belfast, met a decade ago as teenagers.

They were friends at first and then fell in love.

The couple became engaged on June 25, 2011, while on a romantic trip to Greece.

"It was our seventh anniversary," Bronagh said.

"We were on holiday in Greece on the beach. It was as the sun set and a complete surprise."

The couple married at St Mary's Church, Staghall, Belturbet, Co Cavan.

"It was a lovely, small country church, very intimate and close to the hotel for the guests," Bronagh said.

A reception followed at the Slieve Russell, also in Co Cavan.

"The hotel staff were amazing," Bronagh said.

"A big thank you to everyone there and all our friends and family for making it the most fantastic and memorable day ever."

The newlyweds' first dance as husband and wife was to The Pogues song Love You Till The End.

"It was the most special, perfect day we will remember forever," Bronagh added.

Following the wedding Mr and Mrs Carville headed to the US on honeymoon.

"It was the most fantastic trip ever," Bronagh said.

"California is gorgeous and New York is the most exciting place on the east coast."

Married life is going well.

"It is brilliant," Bronagh said.

"You can definitely feel the change.

"It is sharing experiences as well as feeling secure and happy, as we are family now."
