Three boxer bikes with important new engine internals are being unveiled at Charles Hurst BMW Motorrad on Saturday, February 6.
The machines are a R1200GS, the Adventure version of the big trailie and also the R1200RT tourer.
All three bikes have the new double overhead cam engine which the factory says gives them increased a few extra bhp but, more importantly, increased torque. BMW first used the set up on its highly tuned HP Sport boxer, which is also loaded with carbon fibre parts and costs almost £15,000.
A fourth ‘mystery’ bike is also being displayed for the first time in the province. All Jim Hill, the general manager will reveal, is that it’s a limited edition model. The showroom is open from 9am to 1pm.
Not to be outdone by other manufacturers’ offers of zero finance, Ducati is bringing out its own % scheme to apply to the Streetfighter and the Streetfighter S models.
Suzuki is now taking orders for its special 25th anniversary limited edition model of the GSX-R750. Only 25 machines, each numbered and with a certificate, will be released in the UK.
The bike costs £10,099 and it has a Yoshimura can. It’s a matter of first come, first served with orders being taken only on line at www.imgsx-r.com.
