Pam's People: Focus firmly on local Christmas movie tale

By Pamela Ballantine

While I am still looking forward to this Christmas I am also looking forward to next Christmas too and that is because the film Christmas Star will be released.

Written by local lady Maire Campbell, and starring local children along with established actors, including Downton Abbey's Rob Collier, it has just finished filming in locations all over Northern Ireland and I was lucky enough to be included as a background artist (aka an extra) one afternoon in the Londonderry Arms in Carnlough. Blink and you will miss me.

I cannot believe that Rio & Brazil have been leading the way in bringing us fabulous fashion for 35 years. They held a Sushi and Style event in Shiro for their loyal customers, showcasing the latest designs to hit the shelves including the exclusive Mr & Mrs line.

Some people feel that Christmas shopping should be an Olympic sport as it can be an endurance event but there are a lot of retailers who want to make it a really happy experience. One such retailer is DV8 who 20 years ago opened their doors, offering top brands under one roof. They held a party to celebrate the festive season with guests getting the opportunity to browse with a seasonal drink in hand.
