I feel so scared after abuse by my uncle

Fiona Caine is here to help if you have a relationship, sexual, marriage or family problem

All this talk of Jimmy Savile and the abuse he is supposed to have committed on young people has brought back horrific memories for me.

I was sexually abused by my uncle and it has left me with big emotional scars that I thought I was over, but now the nightmares are coming back to haunt me.

Although my husband is appalled and is being very caring, he can’t really understand.

I wish I could talk to someone who did. ER

The charity National Association Of People Abused In Childhood (NAPAC, has been inundated with calls since the Savile story first appeared. Sadly, this small, under-funded charity is struggling to cope.

There is a lot of information on the website or you could try calling the Support Line, tel: 0800 085 3330 — try again later if you don't get through.

They have promised to respond personally to every email as soon as they can so you could try this route for help.

Meanwhile, their online information booklets, written by survivors of abuse, aim to answer questions volunteers have been asked.

Don't forget if you are desperate for someone to talk to call The Samaritans, tel: 08457 90 90 90.
