Son diagnosed with cerebral palsy

Fiona Caine is here to help if you have a relationship, sexual, marriage or family problem

My son is 18 months old and has just been diagnosed with cerebral palsy.

He’s such a happy little chap that it’s hard to believe there is anything much wrong with him, but the consultant is quite certain.

I have so many questions but don’t know who to turn to.

Can you help? KL

The best source of advice on cerebral palsy in the UK will almost certainly be the charity Scope. Cerebral Palsy is a general term that is used to describe a variety of conditions that cause problems with movement.

Cerebral palsy ranges from mild to severe and he may change as he grows and develops.

Scope helps people at all stages and the range of support that’s available is tremendous. Just give them a ring and you’ll get information and advice that you can rely on.
