83-year-old held in chair while men with faces covered rob house

Detectives in Lurgan are appealing for information after a break-in at the house of an 83-year-old man.

The incident happened in the Iveagh Walk area of Banbridge on Saturday night at around 10pm.

It was reported that three men wearing scarves over their faces, hats and coats entered his house.

One of the men held the 83-year-old male occupant in a chair in the living room while the other two searched the property, leaving with a quantity of cash.

Speaking about the break-in, Sergeant Stephen Wilson said: "The man was unharmed, but left shaken by the ordeal."

Anyone who may have witnessed anything suspicious in the area is asked to contact police at Lurgan Criminal Investigation Branch on 101 quoting the reference 1599 with the date 26/08/2017.
