Belfast sex beast back in court
A self-confessed rapist who phoned his victim’s mother to boast about his crime has admitted breaching a court-imposed sexual offences prevention order (SOPO).
Appearing at Belfast Crown Court in jeans and a white T-shirt, Michael Quinn (21) also pleaded guilty to attempting to steal a Toyota Carina car and attempting to break into a house on Marlborough Park South last October 16.
In relation to breaching the SOPO, Quinn, formerly of Glasvey Drive in west Belfast but now with an address at the Juvenile Justice Centre in Bangor, admitted he breached the rules of the hostel he had been staying in.
Quinn was originally jailed for eight years in June 2007, to be followed by three years on probation, after he pleaded guilty to twice raping a 15-year-old schoolgirl who was on holiday from England in August 2005.
Quinn carried out the assault at a BP garage forecourt on Blacks Road. He then took her mobile phone, rang her mother and said: “I enjoyed raping your girl”. He raped her again on a golf course.
Yesterday, Judge Norman Lockie adjourned sentence until reports have been compiled.
