One final push to raise £50,000 in our Clic Sargent appeal

By Aisling Scally

Time is running out to help boost the Belfast Telegraph’s Christmas Appeal in aid of children battling cancer and their families.

We are aiming to hit our £50,000 target by Christmas Eve — so it’s not too late to make a donation, no matter how small, to help out our joint appeal with CLIC Sargent.

Thanks to the overwhelming response to our charity auction, which closed last night, we're well on our way to raising £50,000 to go towards laying the foundations for two respite centres in Belfast.

Our Christmas Appeal tally will go towards the CLIC Sargent Homes From Home Appeal to build the two centres close to cancer treatment centres at the Royal Belfast Hospital for Sick Children and Belfast City Hospital. Their overall aim is to raise £3.7m to build the homely sanctuaries for families while a child is undergoing treatment.

Every penny of the money raised so far has gone directly into the building fund. Every week two children and young people in Northern Ireland are told they have cancer.

To donate: text CLIC04£ followed by the amount to 70070; post cheques payable to CLIC Sargent, Belfast Telegraph Christmas Appeal, 31 Bruce Street, Belfast, BT2 7JD, call 028 9072 5780 or visit .
