Making the Difference: Best Street

The winners of the first Belfast Telegraph Making the Difference Awards, in association with Spar, will be announced on March 9, 2011.

Hundreds of nominations from across Northern Ireland were submitted to 11 categories to find the individuals, projects and businesses that make a positive impact to the daily lives of people. The successful shortlist of inspirational nominees will be invited to be part of the audience at a glittering gala event in the Grand Opera House, Belfast, where the winners will be revealed.

Best Street Sponsor Airtricity

Wayne Millar, NI domestic sales manager, Airtricity, said:

We recognise that while some “awards” recognise the achievements of the business or the sporting worlds, the Making the Difference awards actually promote the good work within communities which often goes unnoticed every day of every week. Airtricity is very keen to help acknowledge the efforts of everyday people to make a difference.

“Airtricity is much more than just a business. While we do have a customer offer which is terrific value, we also partner local communities where he have a presence, working with local representatives and members of communities to ensure we reflect the local make up.

“This is the ideal fit for Airtricity. We are bringing our offer to homes on every street in Northern Ireland and we want to help people make best use of their resources, especially in these less financially secure times.

“We know people in Northern Ireland take pride in their streets and we take pride in the Airtricity offer.
