A Belfast man has been charged with harassing prominent loyalist activist, Jamie Bryson.
Although 57-year-old Robert Alan Beck, from Barnett’s Lodge, did not appear at Newtownards Magistrates Court on Friday, he was accused of two charges relating to an alleged incident on January 8 this year.
Beck is alleged to have used a public communications network to send a message to Mr Bryson that he knew to be false for the purpose of causing annoyance, inconvenience or needless anxiety ans also that he harassed Mr Bryson on the same date.
Defence counsel, Conor Holmes, instructed by Madden and Finuncane, asked for the case to be adjourned until February 17 to "marry up" with other offences being faced by Beck.
“He is on custody on others matters but on bail on these charges,” explained Mr Holmes who said a bail application will be made at High Court on Monday.
The case was adjourned until February 17.
