Editor's Viewpoint: Community Rescue Service volunteers are true heroes
Great praise is due to the volunteers of the Community Rescue Service (CRS), which has had its busiest 12 months in its 11-year history.
The group carries out search and rescue operations, working closely with the police and the emergency services.
Its regional commander Sean McCarry pays tribute to all the volunteers, and also to their family, friends and employers, who support them and help them to carry out their vital and impressive work.
To date this year the CRS has dealt with more than 400 calls, and the work goes on.
The dedication of all these people is to be commended, and we all owe them a debt of gratitude.
