International student Dollee celebrates graduating today with a First Class Honours in Master of Pharmacy from Queen’s University Belfast and has told how the people she met along the way helped to make her experience so special.

Dollee’s supportive and proud family who are from Singapore and Malaysia join her today to celebrate her success.

“My father is a taxi driver in Singapore and worked very hard to support my education at Queen’s. Hence, all of us think it’s such a blessing for me to be able to graduate on his birthday.”

Dollee took part in many of the programmes organised by Queen’s which help international students to become part of a community in Northern Ireland.

Speaking about her experience as an international student, Dollee said: “Belfast and Queen’s have been my home for the past four years and they have a special place in my heart.

“I made friends with people from all over the world. Learning new cultures from my friends was really interesting.”

She added: “The people in Northern Ireland are very kind and helpful and people are a big part of what makes this place so special.”

Dollee received the Queen’s International Student Scholarship to support her throughout her studies which enabled her to balance her academic studies and finances to help her maintain her excellent grades.

“The approachable teaching staff and the high quality facilities made me really enjoy my studies here.

“I’m proud to tell everyone I studied in Queen’s University Belfast.”
