Integrated school expansion at Portadown refused

The Education Minister has turned down a proposal to increase the number of pupils at Portadown Integrated Primary School.

John O'Dowd said agreeing to the plan would require the relocation of the school to a larger, unidentified site and would mean the abandonment of the new-build project which is being advanced in planning.

He added that "the evidence does not demonstrate that increasing provision at Portadown IPS would be in the best interests of the school".
