Kate Hoey to open £1.2m sports pitch

A Co Armagh school is today celebrating a new £1.2m community sports facility.

Northern Ireland-born MP Kate Hoey is to visit Lurgan Junior High school today to help launch the new pitches.

The facilities were funded with a grant of £520,000 from the Big Lottery Fund’s PE and Sport programme, £443,000 from Sport NI and £250,000 from the Southern Education and Library Board.

A special community fun day has been arranged for the launch and is due to be attended by a number of sports personalities, including Ulster rugby legend David Humphries.
