Last chance for pupils to join Tele's Euro 2016 schools project

by staff reporter

IT'S the last chance for teachers to sign up Key Stage 2 pupils for the Belfast Telegraph Summer Project themed on the Euro 2016 finals in France.

Almost 7,000 pupils have already been registered for the project.

The aim of the project is to use a high profile event like Euro 2016 to help develop pupils' literacy, geography and numeracy skills in a fun and innovative way within the context of the World Around Us area of learning.

The varied activities will include opportunities to write reports, do map work, undertake research and write interviews, and will have the theme of this topical event.

The games will be given wide coverage across all media channels, but our participating pupils will have a dedicated newspaper page written especially for them by Sports Editor Steven Beacom, who will be reporting from France.

The project includes a 16-page colour booklet packed with educational activities, a poster showing fixtures which pupils complete as the games progress and a sticker page of all the flags of the participating countries.

You can download your registration form today from or email us on or call us on 028 9026 4000.
