Thumbs-up for Schools' Engagement Project

Justice Minister David Ford has visited a project aimed at getting schoolchildren from different backgrounds to learn about each other's traditions.

The Speedwell/PSNI Schools' Engagement Project in Dungannon is being delivered to children from St Mary's Primary and Windmill Integrated Primary School.

The project is delivered by the Speedwell Trust and the PSNI to enable children to come together to understand and respect each other's differences.

Speaking on his visit to the Speedwell Centre in Parkanaur Forest Park, Mr Ford said the project was "an innovative scheme which plays an important role in building up trust in the community between local schoolchildren from different backgrounds and with the authorities".
