Let's feed our feathered friends

The Ulster Wildlife charity has launched a new fundraising initiative designed to get people engaged with nature this winter.

The Feed the Birds fundraiser aims to encourage people to pick up a sachet of wild bird seed for a suggested donation of £1 and sprinkle it in their garden or other areas where birds feed over these tough months.

The sachets feature an endearing image of people and birds living happily together, drawn by competition winner Anna (aged 6) from Co Antrim.

Geoff Scott from the charity said: "Ulster Wildlife hopes that many thousands of local people and in particular children will pick up a sachet of seed to help us raise funds."

You can pick up your Feed the Birds sachet at any till point in IKEA Belfast or you can also purchase it at the Ulster Wildlife online shop, visit www.ulsterwildlife.org/shop.
