Gang of men pull women from car in Belfast hijacking

A gang of men pulled two women from their car during a hijacking in Belfast city centre on Saturday night.

Shortly before 6.50pm two women were pulled from their red VW Polo in a car park on Dunbar Link by approximately six unknown men.

The men then proceeded to drive off in the car.

The two women were not injured but were left very badly shaken.

It is believed that the hijacked vehicle was later involved in a road traffic collision with another car at around 7pm on the Falls Road in west Belfast causing minor damage.

The female driver of the car hit by the VW Polo and a child passenger received minor injuries in the crash.

The VW Polo was later found abandoned in Devonshire Place in the Divis area at approximately 8.15pm.

Anyone who may have witnessed the hijacking or the road traffic collision to contact police at Musgrave Police Station.

Police also appeal to anyone who may have witnessed the car being abandoned in Devonshire Place to also contact Detectives at Musgrave PSNI Station on the non-emergency number 101.
