The Northern Ireland Executive is to consider bringing in mandatory Covid passports in a bid to relieve the pressure on the health service.

Health Minister Robin Swann called for the measure after ambulances were diverted away from the emergency department at Craigavon Area Hospital on Sunday night and again on Monday as the Southern Trust chief executive said its hospitals were “absolutely on the edge”.
