As the world came to terms with the coronavirus pandemic and what that would mean for our way of life, for those working in prisons, there was an entirely different set of challenges to overcome.

In other parts of Europe there were news reports of jail riots, and an inmate was murdered in Italy during the early days of the global health crisis.
