Judge’s ‘praise’ for man who removed lamppost flag
A District Judge at Limavady Magistrates Court has said a man charged with removing a flag from a lamppost should have been commended.
Judge Eamonn King's comments came during the case of Ciaran David Melaugh (19), of Whitethorn Drive in Derry, who was charged with doing a provocative act by removing a flag in Burnfoot.
When the case came before him the judge said: “For removing a flag from a lamppost he should have been commended.”
The case was adjourned until April 7.
