Knife used in north Belfast sex assault attempt

A woman was taken to hospital last night following an attempted sexual assault in north Belfast.

A man armed with a knife tried to sexually assault the 35-year-old woman while she was walking in the Cave Hill Country Park between 4.30pm and 5.30pm yesterday.

The victim was taken to hospital for treatment to injuries which police said were not life threatening.

The attacker was described as being aged in his 40s, around 5ft 9ins tall and of stocky build.

He was wearing a black fleece jacket with a hood, and was believed to be covered in mud.
