Man assaulted by armed intruder in his bedroom during north Belfast burglary

An 18-year-old man was assaulted by a burglar armed with a knife at a house in north Belfast in the early hours of Sunday.

Shortly after midnight the man woke to find an unknown male, armed with a knife, standing in his bedroom at his home on the Crumlin Road.

The intruder threatened the man before throwing him from the bed, assaulting him and ransacking rooms in the house.

He made off with a laptop and a mobile phone.

The victim and two other people, a man and a woman, who were also in the property at the time were not injured but left shaken.

The suspect is described as around 5’ 7” tall, of heavy build with short shaved hair. He was wearing a light grey t-shirt, tracksuit bottoms and white trainers.
