Detectives in Cookstown are appealing for information following a number of burglaries at homes in Aughnacloy on Saturday.

“Two houses were reported to have been broken into and an attempt was made to enter a third sometime between 11.00pm on Saturday July 27 and 12.30am Sunday July 28 , in the Orchard Park and Rehaghy Road areas of Aughnacloy," Detective Sergeant McGarvey said.

"Our investigation is ongoing and I would ask anyone who noticed any suspicious activity in the area to contact detectives at Cookstown Station on the non-emergency number 101, quoting reference number 162 28/07/19.

“Or, if someone would prefer to provide information without giving their details they can contact the independent charity Crimestoppers and speak to them anonymously on 0800 555 111 which is 100% anonymous and gives people the power to speak up and stop crime.”
