Mud Madness: getting down and dirty for cancer charity

Over one thousand people got down and dirty for McVitie's Jaffa Cakes Mud Madness, which took place on Sunday at Foymore Lodge in Portadown.

Competitors came from across the UK and Northern Ireland as well as Germany, Portugal and the Republic of Ireland.

Professional athletes rubbed shoulders with causal joggers and people who are just a bit bonkers to make their way across 4.5 miles course.

The fundraisers battled through bogs and ponds, squelched under cargo nets and sped past water sprays and muddy trenches to help raise thousands of pounds for the official charity partner of the event, Marie Curie Cancer Care.
