Multiple cars damaged in Larne after string of arson attacks

Detectives are investigating a link between the incidents

Detectives are appealing for information after a string of arson attacks on multiple cars in Larne over the weekend.

Six cars were targeted in neighbouring streets, with five extensively damaged.

Detectives are investigating a link between the incidents and working to establish a motive.

The first attack is reported to have taken place after 1.20am on Saturday morning, April 15. A Seat Leon car parked in Hampton Grove was set ablaze.

Shortly afterwards an attempt was made to set fire to a car parked on Mill Road, this was the only vehicle to escape damage.

Just before 2am on Sunday morning, April 16, a Citroen Berlingo parked in Glebe Ville Gardens was next to be up in flames.

Two cars were set alight at once a short time later on the Killyglen Road, a Volkswagen Golf and an Audi.

The final vehicle to be set on fire was shortly after 4.30am, a Citroen car parked in Blackthorn Green.

Police have urged any one with information about the attacks to contact Detectives in Larne on 101, quoting the reference 102 of April 15, 2017.
