Around a third of MLAs elected in 2011 did not stand again so voters were being treated to the sight of many fresh new faces on street posters.

And there were more party choice this time as well, with UKIP contesting seats for the first time in Northern Ireland. One big question will be how big the gaggle of independents - dubbed the ‘naughty corner’ - will be post-election.

Aside from a slew of new candidates and new parties to choose from, we will see some new departments. The trimmed down Executive will comprise nine departments, including a Department for the Economy and a Department for Community.

Fresh candidates, new parties, major new departments and the potential for an official Opposition to be formed on the Hill... electors here have a lot think about come polling day. So with all that in mind, and to whet the appetite, why not take our exclusive MyVote survey powered by Chambré Public Affairs and created by 31interactive.  MyVote will then match your responses with the party that most closely matches your responses.
