£10k benefit fraudster handed community service sentence
A Belfast man has been given a 60-hour community service sentence for claiming benefits he was not entitled to.
Stephen Price (43) of Ardenwood, claimed Jobseeker’s Allowance totalling £10,908 while failing to declare his partner’s employment.
The fraud was uncovered following an investigation by the Department for Communities.
He is also required to repay any outstanding money wrongfully obtained to the department.
"Suspected benefit fraud can be reported to the Department for Communities anonymously," a department statement said.
