£1k reward for return of pup stolen in Northern Ireland

By Victoria Leonard

A Co Antrim business is offering a £1,000 reward after callous thieves stole a cute puppy during a break-in on Monday night.

The Yard Group at Nutts Corner, which buys and sells cars and commercial vehicles, has launched a social media appeal over the theft of the small white and tan Jack Russell-type pup named 'Hobalong'. Posting on the business' Facebook page yesterday, it wrote: "Last night The Yard at Nutts Corner was broken into and severe damage done.

"Along with trying to steal our commercial vans and stock, the dirty low life stole our pup Hobalong.

"We are devastated at this and simply want him back.

"Reward of £1000 for Hobalong back!

"Please like and share to all your friends.

"Information welcome and treated in strict confidence."

The company's CCTV cameras captured several images of the crime, which have also been shared on social media in an effort to apprehend the thieves.

One image shows a group of three people opening a gate while another looks on.

The Yard Group said that CCTV of the incident had allowed it to capture the licence plate of the vehicle used, which it believes had been stolen from another firm.
