£1m Northern Ireland EuroMillions winner claims prize

The winner of a £1million lottery prize has claimed their money.

A EuroMillions Millionaire Maker £1m prize was left unclaimed following a draw at the end of September.

The ticket was bought in the Newry and Mourne area.

As well as the £1m prize, tickets for an ultimate holiday to Rio also formed part of the win.

On Tuesday, it was confirmed the prize had been claimed.

The lucky person has not yet been named.

The latest millionaire winner comes after local man Jim McLoughlin snapped up £1m after finding an old ticket for a EuroMillions Mega Friday draw in his coat pocket.

The 68-year-old former plumber's mate said he was "stunned" to find he had won the jackpot.
