£300k resurfacing for east Belfast street
A resurfacing scheme on an east Belfast street is to get under way next week at a cost of more than £300,000.
Work on Massey Avenue will begin on Monday. The £337,000 scheme involves the resurfacing of the footways and carriageway in the street and is expected to take seven weeks to complete.
During most of the work a two-way traffic flow will be maintained along Massey Avenue. However, one footway will be closed when it is being reconstructed.
Pedestrian access will be maintained at all times on the opposite footway. Local access to all properties will be maintained throughout the works.
Regional Development Minister Danny Kennedy said: "The improvements will result in the overall strengthening of the road and road users will quickly realise the benefits of the new carriageway surface."
