More than 60 people braved the cold with the Simon Community NI and Q Radio to help raise awareness of homelessness in Northern Ireland.

On Thursday night supporters of the Simon Community slept out on the grounds of Stormont Estate with nothing but sleeping bags.

The One Big Sleep Out event was to raise funds and awareness for their homelessness services, which include temporary accommodation and specialist mental health and addiction support.

Joanne McCallister from the Simon Community said: "While the sleep out could never replicate the real difficulties of truly experiencing homelessness, for the people taking part it did show some of the realities of having no home."

People can support the charity's work by texting SIMON10 to 70140 to donate £10.
