£80k arson blitz on work vehicles in Dundonald

Police are appealing for information after £80,000 worth of damage was caused to three plant vehicles during an arson attack.

The incident happened in the Millmount Road area of Dundonald sometime between Wednesday night and yesterday morning. It was reported that some time between 5pm on Wednesday and 8am the next day, a building site was entered and a number of plant vehicles set on fire.

A digger, forklift and Terx Dumper truck were destroyed during the incident. A PSNI spokesman said damage estimated in excess of £80,000 is believed to have been caused.

"Police would appeal to anyone who witnessed the incident or anyone with any information to contact them at Castlereagh Police Station on 0845 600 8000. Alternatively information may be passed on anonymously via the Crimestoppers number 0800 555 111," he added.
