£80k damage in building site blaze

Plant vehicles worth more than £80,000 have been destroyed in an arson attack on the edge of east Belfast.

The Hita digger, Mani forklift and Terex dumper truck were set on fire at a building site on Millmount Road, Dundonald overnight.

"Damage estimated in excess of £80,000 is believed to have been caused," a Police Service of Northern Ireland (PSNI) spokeswoman said.

The attack was carried out sometime between 5pm yesterday and 8am today and police have appealed for anyone with information to come forward to detectives at Castlereagh.
