A fitting tribute from UCF

As Breast Cancer Awareness month draws to a close, the Ulster Cancer Foundation (UCF) reports that thousands of people participated in its Pink Link fundraising campaign run with MediCare Pharmacy Group.

MediCare stores encouraged shoppers to make a donation to UCF's breast cancer awareness campaign and sign the pink ribbon of hope. .

Joyce Savage, of UCF, said the money raised would develop their bra and swimwear fitting service. She said: “With over 1,000 local women diagnosed with breast cancer each year, there has been a growing need to offer the fitting service across Northern Ireland. By early 2011 we hope to be providing this service in six venues across Northern Ireland. Breast cancer patients will be able to access UCF's Fitting Service with ease in their own community and improve their quality of life.”

A selection of headwear is also available for women experiencing hair loss due to treatment. For information or an appointment contact Eileen Creery at UCF on 9066 3281.
