A great ‘gift’ idea for Father’s day

For many, choosing a Father’s day present can often amount to yet another new pair of socks or never-to-be-used cuff links.

Responding to ‘local need’ the Belfast NSPCC fundraising committee have come up with a vibrant and unusual way to thank your father by inviting families in South Belfast to join them on their ‘June Jamboree on the hill’—taking place on Stormont grounds, from 2pm to 5pmthis Father’s Day, Sunday June 20.

Karen Walker, NSPCC community fundraising manager said: “We think the June Jamboree is a great way for people to spend Father’s Day outdoors without having the hassle of organising something that is suitable for everyone — we have already taken care of that.Families just need to pack a picnic, head for the hill and spend the afternoon having fun and being entertained.”

The private lawns of Stormont Estate will host the Martello Jazz Band, who will be sure to keep the audience’s feet tapping. The Belfast Community Circus will also be there to entertain everyone with their tricks. It is hoped vital funds to support local vulnerable children and young people will be raised on the day too.

Tickets can be bought on the day for a suggested donation of £20 for a family of four or by contacting NSPCC local fundraising office on 028 9035 7970 or by emailing
