A truly slick production that'll warm the heart

By Laura Abernethy

This Christmas star is certainly the brightest in the sky.

The young cast were funny, believable and heartwarming. For most of the young stars, this is their first time on the big screen but they were true professionals and I wouldn't be surprised to see those names in lights in years to come.

Despite a limited budget and just a few weeks of filming, the production is slick and professional and a credit to the young trainees behind the scenes. With recognisable scenes from across Northern Ireland, the film is sure to appeal to a local audience but the stunning views could delight thousands across the UK and it is a great opportunity to showcase all we have to offer.

The soundtrack adds to the magic, with 13-year-old Zena Donnelly belting out We Can Shine - a song that I was still humming hours later.

The storyline, though slightly predictable, gave a beautiful Christmas message that anyone from any background can do anything if they want it enough.

With little comic snippets for both adults and kids, this feelgood tale is a delight and makes a perfect family day out right through the festive season.
