Accused banned from any protests

A man charged with assaulting police, resisting them and disorderly behaviour has been released on his own bail at Limavady Magistrates Court on condition he does not attend any parade or protest in the town.

William Young (54), of Thiepval Court in the town, was charged with three assaults on police officers, resisting an officer and disorderly behaviour in the Connell Street area of the town on December 18.

Young was freed on bail and will appear again on January 30.
