Accused is bailed on threat to kill charge

By Paul Higgins

A Ballymena man has appeared in court accused of involvement in a violent incident in Larne earlier this year.

Matthew Bradbury (31), from Moat Road, appeared in the dock at Coleraine Magistrates Court yesterday where he was accused of having two weapons, a baseball bat and a knife, with intent to inflict GBH, threatening to kill a man, and having a firearm or imitation firearm with intent to cause fear of violence, all alleged to have occurred during an incident in Larne on Wednesday (May 24).

At 11.40pm police attended a property in the Fairways area of Larne following reports of a domestic incident. In court yesterday, a police officer connected Bradbury to the offences.

District Judge Liam McNally freed Bradbury on bail but imposed several conditions which bar him from entering Larne and from consuming alcohol. Bradbury, who must also observe a curfew, was ordered to come back to court on June 22.
