Actor Jamie Dornan captured on canvas

By Claire Williamson

Hollywood star Jamie Dornan looked much happier in real life than he did in his portrait by Belfast artist Colin Davidson.

Dornan appeared thrilled with the creation as he joined a long list of famous faces captured on canvas by Davidson.

The 36-year-old actor from Holywood, is now in the company of the Queen, President Clinton, Seamus Heaney, Ed Sheeran and Liam Neeson to name a few to have been immortalised by the artist.

Dornan is currently in Belfast for six weeks, filming a new BBC series, an adaptation of the Eugene McCabe book Death And Nightingales, with many from the team who made The Fall.

Earlier this week, Dornan gave his backing to a new group set up to support those suffering from pancreatic cancer.

His mother Lorna died from the disease in 1998 when he was just 16. He revealed that even 20 years later, the loss impacts him every day.
