Airline launches flights to Verona

Budget airline is to launch a new route from Belfast International Airport to Verona.

The north Italian city is the setting of Shakespeare's Romeo And Juliet and is close to picturesque Lake Garda.

It is part of an expansion by, with five new routes available for next summer.

Steve Heapy, chief executive of and Jet2holidays, said: "Next year is going to be our biggest one yet at Belfast International Airport, with a total of 18 destinations plus an additional aircraft.

"Our latest route, Verona, is a fantastic place to visit and I'm sure it will prove very popular."

Graham Keddie, managing director of Belfast International Airport, said it was a great addition to the route network.

"It is also the perfect starting point for a fabulous break in one of Italy's most beautiful regions."
