Andrew’s campaign doesn’t skip a beat

Local man Andrew Campbell has been declared a real ‘Heart Hero’ by the British Heart Foundation (BHF) in recognition of his campaign to increase access to cardiac rehabilitation — a life-saving and life-enhancing service to those who suffer from a variety of heart ailments.

Andrew, from the Shore Road, received a Heart Hero Award from BHF Northern Ireland, for his campaign work at the BHF Annual Conference held in the Glenavon Hotel, Cookstown last week.

Andrew said: “It’s an honour to campaign for such a worthy cause and a privilege to realise that we can still make a difference.”

BHF Northern Ireland Director, Marjory Burns paid tribute to Andrew’s work. She said: “We would like to give a huge hearty thank you to Andrew Campbell and to all our supporters who have chosen to help the charity improve the lives of people living with heart disease in Northern Ireland.

“We are committed to beating heart disease together and it is the continued support of local volunteers and supporters that enables BHF Northern Ireland to take forward our vital work such as supporting 35 healthcare professionals across Northern Ireland.”

BHF Northern Ireland relies on donations of time and money to continue its life-saving work. To find out more call 028 6863 3113 or email
