Anger after bomb thrown at house in west Belfast
A bomb attack on a west Belfast home has been slammed as "extremely reckless" by a local councillor.
Police reported that "a small explosion" took place shortly after 8pm outside a property at Creeslough Court in Lenadoon.
It's understood no one was injured in the blast.
Sinn Fein councillor Arder Carson condemned those responsible.
"This device was thrown in a residential area, populated with young families and elderly residents," he said.
"The PSNI have now mounted an operation in the surrounding area.
"My understanding is that this was a viable bomb.
"This is an extremely reckless incident which has placed the lives of residents at risk."
The former Lord Mayor added: "Those responsible have no regard at all for local people.
"I unreservedly condemn this attack.
"Anyone with information should bring that forward to the PSNI."
Police investigating the attack have called for anyone who can help to call the non-emergency number 101, quoting reference number 1198.
