Anger as Union flag for Prince Charles' birthday is cut down

A Union flag being flown to celebrate the birthday of the Prince of Wales yesterday was cut down from a benefits office, an MLA has said.

West Tyrone MLA Tom Buchanan condemned those who removed the flag from Strabane Social Security Office yesterday morning.

The flag was being flown for Prince Charles' 65th birthday – one of the designated days it flies on public buildings.

The DUP MLA said: "I would hope that those responsible can be apprehended and charged."
